Windrush Generations is an organisation in the Bradford area set up to
represent the interests of people from British Commonwealth countries in the
Caribbean known as the "Windrush Generation", who after being invited to Britain
by the government to help rebuild the nation following its devastation in World
War II, experienced a great deal of prejudice and hardships on account of their
colour and heritage.

Created in 2018, each year WindrushDay is observed on June 22 to celebrate the contribution made by British Caribbean communities to the UK, especially to reconstruct the country after World War II.
The HMT Empire Windrush, a passenger liner and cruise ship launched in
Germany in 1930 and owned by Hamburg Süd was seized as a prize of war and
renamed the Empire Windrush. In 1948, Empire Windrush brought a large group of
West Indian immigrants to the United Kingdom, carrying 1,027 passengers and two
stowaways on a voyage from Jamaica to London. 802 of these passengers gave their
last country of residence as somewhere in the Caribbean: of these, 693 intended
to settle in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the ship carried 66 Polish people
intending to settle in Britain.
Windrush was not the first ship to carry
a large group of West Indian people to the United Kingdom, as two other ships
had arrived the previous year. But Windrush's 1948 voyage became very
well-known; British Caribbean people who came to the United Kingdom in the
period after World War II, including those who came on other ships, are
sometimes referred to as the Windrush generation.

The flag is white with organisation logo on it, what
seems like in 1:1 ratio. However, the logo have year(s) in the text "1948-2018"
or "2019", but on the flag there are words "we are" on that specific space. The
logo is triangle with oval edges with silhouette of a ship and text "WE ARE
STANDING/ON THEIR SHOULDERS/WINDRUSH GENERATIONS".

The flag, designed in Bradford, Yorkshire, has been as of 2020 adopted by
local authorities across the country.
