The Communauté d'agglomération du Saint-Quentinois (81,489 inhabitants in 2016; 29,330 ha) was created in 2017 as the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération de Saint-Quentin (20 municipalities, 72,463 inh., created in 1999) and the former Communauté de communes du canton de Saint-Simon (19 municipalities, 10,318 inh., created in 1994).

The Communauté de communes de Retz-en-Valois (29,594 inhabitants in 2018; 53,440 ha), created in 2017 and seated in Villers-Cotterêts, gathers 54 municipality:
- the 24 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes du Pays de la Vallée de l'Aisne;
- the 18 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes Villers-Cotterêts - Forêt de Retz;
- 12 out of the the 33 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes de l'Ourcq et du Clignon.

Val de l'Oise
