Description

Horizontally striped with nine stripes yellow-red with a blue hoist stripe as wide as 1/3 of the flag's length, and on it a yellow palmtree as high as 7/9 of the flag's height. Ratio 2:3.

The flag is almost a banner of the arms (blazoned Per pale Azure a palmtree Or and Or four pallets Gules). The palmtree is the attribute of St Christopher, the local patron saint, and the yellow-red stripes remind of the former royal jurisdiction. Flag adopted 21st October 1991.
