The municipality of Puebla de Obando (1,836 inhabitants in 2019; 2,360 ha) is located 50 km north-east of Badajoz and 40 km north of Montijo.

Flag of Puebla de Obando

The flag (photo, photo, photo) and arms of Puebla de Obando are prescribed by an Order adopted on 4 March 1998 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 16 April 1998 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 42, pp. 2,809-2,810 (text). The symbols were adopted on 6 September 1996 by the Municipal Council. The Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura recommended the suppression of Charles III's double-headed eagle from the proposed arms. The Municipal Council turned down the proposal on 7 March 1997.
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Vertically quartered blue at hoist and at fly, double quartered yellow in the center. Charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Argent a cross flory gules cantonned by four scallops of the same a bordure gules eight saltires or (arms of Obando), 2. Gules a scroll or inscribed "1524" sable above a double-headed eagle sable beaked and armed or. Grafted azure a pillory or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
