Wehr Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a fess wavy Azure, in chief four trees Vert ordered per fess, on fess (Azure) four trees Argent ordered per fess.
Meaning:
The city belonged to the Habsburg kin since 1273 and gained the rank of a market town between 1363 and 1805. Due to the development of economic importance by industrialisation it gained the title of a city in 1950. A market seal, probably made between 1850 and 1870 already displayed the fess wavy, combined with an intial "W". The current pattern was introduced in 1902. The fess wavy since then is interpreted as a representation of the name giving river Wehra. The trees were denoted as lindens. They had been painted first in natural colours and they are symbolising the forestall riches of the city.
