Jestetten Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a city gate Argent with open door and portcullis Argent, in centre a grapevine Vert and a vinegrower's knife proper.
Meaning:
Grapevine and knife had been used on local seals since the 19th century. They ar symbolising the fertile soil, suitable for viticulture. In 1896 the depiction on a local wayside cross, erected in 1700, was adopted. This version was denoted as "the old arms" in a dade from 1796. It displayed the gate with two towers with domes. The current version was established in 1956. The gate is possibly representing the so called "tower of Jestetten", mentioned in 1514 and demolished in the 19th century.
