Hohenberg Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter quartered of Argent and Sable, at sinister Gules, on a peak issuant Vert a tower Argent with roof Azure.
Meaning:
The dexter half displays the arms of the Burgraves of Nürnberg, local rulers since 1413. Hohenberg had been their seat in the Sechsämterland, i.e. "country of the six subcounties", which is more or less the current Wunsiedel County. The peak, or high mountain (German: hoher Berg) is a canting element. The tower is alluding to a local castle built by the Staufen kin. In 1819 the arms were changed, the dexter half was quartered of Or and Argent, behind the tower had been an empty field, under both a mount.
