Satrup Municipal Coat of Arms

In a red shield is an image of the so called Satrup knight in silver (=white) with black lining (see left image above). The knight has mounted a jumping horse, facing the dexter side. He wears full armour including a sword and holds a shield in his left and a lance in his right hand.
Meaning:
The image of the knight is very old. The image of the knight is based upon a relief from the early medieval. The original image can be seen on a stone at the entrance of the local parish church.I The coat of arms was adopted probably under British military administration after WW2, but no one knows exactly. It is sure, that it was used since 1949.
