Tann Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, on the central peak of a triplemount issuant Vert a fir of the same, flanked by two impending lozenges, Azure at dexter and Argent at sinister.
The fir (German: Tanne) is a canting element. The lozenges are taken from the arms of the Wittelsbach kin. The arms remained basically the same throughout the centuries. If the lozenges are green and white, the arms are not those of the town but those of the Weideneder Tann Brewery. Red and green had been common tinctures of Lower Bavarian municipalities.

The arms were granted on 19 November 1439 by Duke Heinrich XVI the Rich of Bayern-Landshut. The banner probably is used without approval.
