Simbach Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base wavy Azure, an embowed throughout bridge Gules with three arches and handrail, in chief three heraldic roses Gules seeded Or and barbed Vert ordered 2:1.
The base wavy is symbolising the name giving Inn River. The bridge is a representation of the local crossing over the river between Bayern and Österreich (Austria). The roses are taken from the family arms of the Counts of Toerring, rulers of the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) since 1647. They rebuilt the village after the serious destructions caused by the battle of Simbach on 9 May 1743 during the War of the Austrian Succession. Simbach developed and became an independent municipality in 1826 and finally gained city rights in 1951.
