Coat of Arms

Shield Or with chief embattled Sable, in centre an inescutcheon barry of seven of Azure and Argent, over all a bend wavy Gules, in base two open end wrenches Sable in saltire.
Meaning:
The most important local rulers in the past had been the Bishops of Bamberg and their commisionaires, the Lords of Redwitz, the Marshals of Kunstadt and the Lords of Kunstadt. As all the three families were of the same origin, they used common arms as displayed in the inescutcheon. The tinctures yellow and black are those of the bishopric. The embattled chief is alluding to Redwitz Castle with parts from the 14th century. The wrenches are symbolising industrial development.
