Sommerach Coat of Arms

Renaissance shield parted per fess; above Azure, an abbot issuant Argent with mitre, crozier and chalice of the same; beneath Argent three facetted 6-point stars Gules ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
The arms are based on a seal oft he local court of justice. Its original print was made around 1500. The abbot is alluding to Münsterschwarzach Abbey. Its reeves ruled the bailiwick between 1306 and 1803. The stars are considered to be local symbols. The tinctures blue and white are those of the abbey. red and white are those of Franken.

The arms were approved on 22 September 1952 by Minister of Interior of Bayern. The banner had never been approved officially.
