Dormitz Coat of Arms

Shield parted per chevron reversed, above Or an eagle's head Sable tongued Gules, beneath Gules and Sable, parted by two chevrons cotised Argent abased addorsed .
Meaning:
The eagle's head is a differentiation of the eagle of the Hohenzollern kin and the imperial eagle as well and is alluding to the Margraves of Bayreuth and the Free Imperial City of Nürnberg, which ruled the municipality in the past. The colours black and golden are those of the Archbishopric of Bamberg, to which the municipality belonged for a long time. The chevrons are taken from the family arms of the Barons Haller of Hallerstein.
