Donnersberg Coat of Arms

Shield Vert a radiant sun Or; mantled, at dexter Or a 6-spokes wheel Gules, at sinister Argent a 6-spokes wheel Azure.
Meaning:
The two wheels in the upper part are taken from the arms of the two former counties of Kirchheimbolanden and Rockenhausen. The blue wheel is taken from the arms of the latter, the red wheel from those of the former. The green partition is symbolising the name giving Donnersberg forested mountain. The sun is symbolising the sunny plains and the importance of viticulture in the county. The blue wheel is a differentiation of the blue wheel on a blue field from the arms of the Lords of Falkenstein, and later the historical County of Falkenstein. The lords, who became extinct in 1418, owned the Donnersberg Castle in Rockenhausen. The red wheel is taken from the arms of the Lords of Bolanden, the oldest noble family in the area.
