Mehlmeisel Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a fir Vert over two picks Sable in saltire, at sinister Vert a stag issuant Argent, base Or charged with a branch of whitethorn Vert with berries Gules.
Meaning:
The whitethorn (Latin: Crataegus laevigata) is canting, in Bavarian local language called a Mehlmeisel. Fir and picks are symbolising the origin of the municipality by forest clearance in the Fichtelgebirge. The stag is a differentiation of the family arms of the Lords of Hirschberg, who had their seat in the area of the municipality since the 15th century.
