On 27 July 2010, Philippe Girard-Bélanger, "Le Lac-Saint-Jean", reported the return of Jean Asselin from Kandahar, Afghanistan, where he hoisted the municipal flag on the camp of the Canadian forces. Asselin brought back the flag and offered it to the municipality. On the photo attached to the report, the flag is hardly visible; however, what is shown does not seem to match any part of the flag shown above.

The differences may not be all that significant - while there is no blue border and the stripe is much thinner than in Arnaud's image, we do see a blue strip on white, and folded under this appears to be an orange/gold area on blue which could be one of the circular hand depictions.
