Municipality

The municipality of Paverama (8,437 inhabitants in 2016; 16,920 ha) is located 100 km of Porto Alegre.

The municipality of Paverama was established by Municipal Law No. 8,560 promulgated on 13 April 1988, separating from Taquari, and inaugurated on 1 January 1989.

Symbols

The flag and arms of Paverama are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 226 promulgated on 28 August 1991.

Article 2.
A classical shield, on a field azure (blue), in the center an escutcheon gules (red) of the same format charged in the center with a lyre or, representing the people's musical skills over a dove argent (white) connected to the origin of the municipality's name, formed on two indigenous words, "pave" ("everyone's") and "retama" / "rama" ("the land)", meaning "Everyone's Land", or peace among different ethnics; in base, also argent (white) a cross emphasizing the people's religious feelings.
The shield supported dexter and sinister by leaves and fruit of wheat, soybean, maize and branches of wattle flowered vert (green) and or (yellow), representing the plant resources, the base of economy.
The shield surmounted by a cog crown or (yellow), as a symbol of industrial growth.
Beneath the shield a scroll gules (red) inscribed "13.04 - PAVERAMA - 1988", the municipality's name and date of emancipation.

Article 4.
The flag of the municipality shall be white, representing peace and faith, the inhabitant's basic principles.

Article 5.
The features of the flag shall obey the following rules.
I. The flag's width shall be 14 units.
II. The flag's length shall be 20 units.
III. Centered on the white panel, the coat of arms of the municipality shall be 7 units in width on 6.5 units in length.
