Symbols

The flag and arms of Arambaré are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 103 promulgated on 24 August 1994.

Article 1.
The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Gaúcha heraldist and artist Rosa Maria Accorsi Lang.

Article 2.
The coat of arms of the municipality shall be as follows:
Portuguese shield, tierced in fess wavy argent (white) on a background azure (blue), evoking the water resources, especially Lagoa dos Patos and the sand of its beaches, natural resources that highlight the municipality, turning it into a tourism attractive pole and presenting it to the other regions.
In chief, superimposed to a sun or (gold) and gules (red), a gull argent as a symbol of liberty, the feeling that motivated the early settlers of the region and pushed towards the independence of the municipality.
In counter-chief, dexter and sinister, two men's profiles separated by a fess wavy azure (blue), symbolizing stream Velhaco that flows into Lagoa dos Patos. The profiles, dexter argent (white) and sinister vert (green), represent miscegenation between the diverse colonizing people and the local people and their integration to form a union generating wealth and progress.
Dexter is featured a fig tree vert (green) and or (yellow), a tree of great stand and rare beauty, present in great number in the region and characteristic of it.
Sinister is featured a bull's head or (yellow), symbolizing cattle-breeding, one of the economic pillars of the municipality.
Beneath the shield a scroll gules (red) inscribed argent (white) "20 - 03 ARAMBARÉ 1992" - the municipality's name and date of emancipation.
The shield surmounted by a mural crown or (gold) and argent (white), with five towers, indicating municipal coat of arms.

Article 4.
The flag of the municipality shall be blue, charged in the center with an oval, representing:
I. White: Fraternity, hospitality and faith, characteristic of the inhabitants of the municipality.
II. Blue: Confidence in a prosperous future, commitment to effort and work.

The construction details of the flag are given in a very clumsy way in Article 5. To summarize:
- the flag dimensions are 14 x 20 units;
- the size of the oval is 8 x 10 units [the oval is indeed a circle].
- the length of the coat of arms is 6.5 units.

The flag hoisted in front of the Town Hall has a much darker field than the flags used in other events.
