Bagulin's proposals of cantonal and municipal symbols

The local magazine Posavski obzor presented in February-March 2012 a set of proposals of cantonal and municipal symbols. All proposals were credited to the same designer, "Bagulin", and followed the the same pattern.
These proposals appear to be a private initiative by the designer, apparently supported by the magazine, but they are not part of any official procedure. However, eventually, they may get into official consideration. The designs were indeed first published on a online forum of computer graphic designers attempting to improve the heraldic scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and taken up by the magazine.

The proposals consist basically of three symbols - a coat of arms (in a shield), a seal or a greater coat of arms (the coat of arms set in a circular seal with additional ornaments and inscriptions) and a flag (some of them in both horizontal and vertical versions, other only horizontal). The coat of arms are mostly blue shields with chequy chiefs and additional local symbols in silver and gold in the blue field. Beside the chequy field and fleurs-de-lis, as known symbols, there are included eight-pointed stars (as proposed symbol of the Canton), the wattle-work (in most cases in form of the traditional Croatian wattle ornament) and the heraldic stylization of various elements of the local flora and fauna. The flags are basically blue with the seal in the centre (as a new vexillological development in Bosnia and Herzegovina) and additional stripes in various positions providing the differentiation.

Proposed symbols of Posavina Canton

Bagulin's proposals for Posavina Canton (Idejno rješenje za grb i zastavu županije Posavske) were published on 2 March 2012 in Posavski obzor (website).
The flag is blue with a red and a white stripe along the hoist and the coat of arms in the middle. The coat of arms is an "heralidization" of the current coat of arms, with an 8-pointed star added. The star represents the Canton, that is the Bosnian Posavina region with eight municipalities: Bosanski Brod, Bosanski Šamac-Domaljevac, Ravne-Brčko, Derventa, Gradačac, Modriča, Odžak and Orašje. However, the today's Canton is formed only of Domaljevac-Šamac, Odžak and Orašje.

Proposed municipal symbols of Domaljevac-Šamac

Bagulin's proposals for Domaljevac-Šamac (Idejno rješenje zastave i grba općine Domaljevac-Šamac) were published on 15 March 2012 in Posavski obzor (website).
The flag is blue with a white cross and the greater coat of arms in the middle. The cross was inspired by the monument to the killed members of the 104th HVO brigade. The coat of arms was inspired by the current municipal coat of arms.

Proposed municipal symbols of Odžak

Bagulin's proposals for Odžak (Idejno rješenje grba općine i grada Odžak) were published on 23 February 2012 in Posavski obzor (website).
The flag is blue with the greater coat of arms in the middle. The coat of arms is said to have been inspired by the emblem of the 102nd brigade from Odžak (which was basically per bend sinister chequy gules and argent and azure three fleurs-de-lis or and overall on a bend argent inscribed "ODŽAČKA"). A silkmoth is included, recalling that the production of silk was important in the region in the late 19th century and that two places are named Svilaj for it (svila meaning "silk").

Proposed municipal symbols of Orašje

Bagulin's proposals for Orašje (Idejno rješenje zastave i grba općine i grada Orašje) were published on 8 March 2012 in Posavski obzor (website).
The flag is blue with a white vertical stripe offset to the hoist. The canting coat of arms includes a walnut tree (orah means "a walnut").

Proposed municipal symbols of Ravne-Brčko

The municipality of Ravne-Brčko does not exist today. Established by the Bosnian Croats in the part of the municipality of Brčko under their control, it was eventually incorporated to the Brčko District.

Bagulin's proposals for Ravne-Brčko (Idejno rješenje grba i zastave općine Ravne-Brčko) were published on 23 March 2012 in Posavski obzor (website).
The flag is blue with a vertical tricolour red-white-blue stripe fimbriated white offset to hoist and the greater coat of arms in the middle. The Tau crosses symbolize the Franciscan parishes in the region while the ruined tower represents the ruined Franciscan monasteries. The red hills represent the Majevica mountain.
