About the district

[Editor’s note: this district is a subdivision located inside the Province of Buenos Aires, just a few kilometers from the capital City of Buenos Aires. Its symbols are related just to it, and are not intended for South Atlantic Islands]

The Partido de José C. Paz alongside the neighboring districts of San Miguel and Malvinas Argentinas were part of a bigger district named Partido de General Sarmiento until 1994 when they became three independent districts by provincial law.

Description of the flag

According to an article published on the Argentinian website Reporterweb, the ninth anniversary of the creation of the Municipio (Municipality) of Malvinas [Argentinas], was officially celebrated on 15 June 2004 in Buenos Aires.

The main event of the celebration, presided by the commandant of the military garrison of Buenos Aires, was a military parade of the Argentinian Army. There was also a flag raising ceremony, during which the national flag, the flag of the Province of Buenos Aires and the flag of the Malvinas municipality.

A longer description of the ceremony can be read on the Reporterweb website: Unfortunately, no image of the flag raising ceremony is available on the website.

On June 15, 2004, the 9th Anniversary of the creation of the Municipality was celebrated and its flag was presented to the public in a ceremony.

The coat of arms of the municipality is located in the center of a white cloth with a green border on all sides.

The image on the page has no word "MUNICIPALIDAD" over the shield, but the photo of the real flag shows it should be there: https://diariolaprimera.com.ar/contenido

If it can help clarify about whether "Municipalidad" is written or not, I notice that the picture at https://www.atlasconurbano.info/pagina.php?id=277 displayed since 2023 on its website is exactly the same as the one I drew in 2014 (https://1900.ethnia.org/flag/AR3R-2004-06-15.jpg; archived here) based on the description on the (then unbroken) link given by Ivan Sache, with arms I found then. I was not certain at all of the result and it is possible that "Municipalidad" above the blazon was already on the real original flag. Another source on the Internet displays the same picture (https://picryl.com/media/bandera-partido-malvinas-argentinas-a7600c) and claims that the flag was "on Wikimedia Commons in 2009" but I couldn't see any proof of that.
