Introduction

The last Austrohungarian regulation on military flags of 1915 introduced substantial changes in the design of the flags for generals and admirals, however, retaining the previous model of dividing them into command flags (admirals, plus commodore pennant and masthead pennant) and service flags (generals). There is no record known to me that these flags were ever introduced in any kind of service. [Baumgartner, 1977, p. 34]
