The three torrents are canting on the flag. They reflect the geographical location of the municipality. The two "vertical" torrents come down from the French-Swiss border (the mountains shown on the flag), the "horizontal" one is the main river, which further flows in the valley (Val d'Illiez) towards the Rhone.
