The flag

The flag of the Métis Nation in BC incorporates similar elements of the provincial flag including the use of dark blue wavy lines symbolically representing the major rivers of the province. Unique features of this flag include the use of the infinity symbol with both a blue and red colored background and a Red River cart that is displayed against a gray colored image of a mountain range.
Darrell Neuman, 15 March 2007

The flag is based on the British Columbia provincial flag, with a flag diagonally divided Red/Blue and bearing the "infinity" sign replacing the Union Jack. There is a Red River Cart and a silhouette of mountains in front of the sun.

The Red River Cart is a traditional vehicle of the Métis from the Red River area, now Manitoba.
