Introduction: Milwaukee Brewers
Seattle Pilots (1969), Milwaukee Brewers (1970-present)

The Milwaukee Brewers compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League (NL) Central division. The franchise was created in 1969 as an expansion team of the American League as the Seattle Pilots. In 1970, the team left Seattle and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, taking a new name as the Brewers. The team remained in the American League until 1998 when they transferred to the National League.

The team currently plays their home games at Milwaukee's Miller Park (2001-present). Before that, they played at Milwaukee County Stadium as the Brewers (1970-2000) and Sick's Stadium as the Seattle Pilots (1969).

The Brewers have played in only one World Series, against the St. Louis Cardinals in 1982. Additionally, the Brewers have won one American League pennant and no National League pennants in the team's history.

Note: Be aware that in the early years baseball teams used pennants rather than flags, and a host of manufacturer's variants of these pennants and later fan flags were marketed for the Brewers and their fans. They include flags, banners, and pennants too numerous to all be shown here.

About the flags

The official flag of the Milwaukee Brewers features their current logo centered on a dark blue field. The current logo, adopted in 2018, shows a dark blue capital "M," fimbriated white and metallic gold, perched atop a metallic gold wheat ear.

The Brewers also have an alternate logo that previously served as the team's primary logo 1978-1993. Designed by a local art student, the logo features a lower case "m" and "b" joined together to form a baseball mit, with a stylized baseball in the center. The letters are blue outlined in gold. This alternate logo centered on a light blue field serves as the team's alternate flag.

Previous flags of the Milwaukee Brewers used the team's old logos, including the example above, which features the 2000-2017 logo centered on a dark blue field. The logo itself is centered on a baseball, with the word "Brewers" in a dark blue script in front of it. Arched above the baseball is the city name "MILWAUKEE" in metallic gold, capital letters, with two wheat ears in metallic gold arched below the baseball.

These popular variants of the American national flag have been produced for all the MLB teams and displayed by their enthusiastic fans. In the canton of the first illustrated here, the white stars of the national flag have the current Brewers "M" logo superimposed over the stars. The 13 red and white stripes in the fly have been replaced with the navy blue and white colors of Milwaukee Brewers. The second variant shown here features the Brewers' mitt logo as well as less stripes and less stars, 11 yellow and blue stripes and no stars to be exact. Both of these designs can be found incorporating either of the team's logos in the canton.

With a team nickname like "Brewers," there are understandably a number of flags for fans produced by local beer companies, including several from Miller Lite. Nearly all include one of the team's various logos centered on a field of one or two colors, with the name "Lite" prominent in the lower fly.

A second group of fan flags uses the team's previous or current official flags, adding stripes either at the top and bottom or the fly and hoist sides.

In a demonstration of what can only be described as "Wisconsin Pride," there are flags that feature a current or past Brewers logo superimposed over a gold map of the state of Wisconsin, all displayed on a dark blue field.

These flags tend to be more popular among NFL football fans, but can also be found for baseball fans. These flags feature the team's colors and logo and declare the area to be part of the "Man Cave" for fans of that team.

For those Milwaukee Brewers fans who own yachts or sailboats and want to display their team loyalty, a separate flag is sold for them. The flag takes the form of a dark blue and gold burgee with the Brewers' current "M" and wheat logo.
