The City of Lawrence has a new flag: http://www.cityoflawrence.org/news/2019/12/06/city-lawrence-has-new-flag

The Lawrence Common Council voted unanimously to recognize a new city flag designed by Ethan Marasco. This flag honors the values of Lawrence:
Peace and Safety
Unity, diversity, and stability
Rich military history
Patriotism
Acknowledge our history while becoming a city with a vision, with big ideas
Always moving forward

The red represents determination and passion. The white represents peace and safety. The blue represents unity, diversity and stability. The 5 stars represent the 5 branches of the U.S. military. The white lines in the middle and the stripes coming out of the star represent the city's future as they depict a bird flying into the horizon, demonstrating that Lawrence is a city that is always moving forward.
