Description of the flag

The flag of the Town of Avilla, Indiana, is a blue & white flag. On top left is a scroll with inscribed on it Equal, Faith, Family, Friends, Giving, for our town's values. The top right is a silhouette of our state with lines to different parts of the state. The bottom of our flag on the left is a barn and hay it is for our rich farming history. The bottom right is a family that represents our residents. The center is a star that states Avilla Indiana and the date 1876 our est. date with our motto "Our Home is Yours". A local citizen Silas Blessinger Jr, resident of Avilla started a flag contest and worked with the Town Council and on Dec. 19 2007, the Council adopted this flag by Resolution 578-12-07. The winning design was submitted by Adam Rothenberger local resident of Avilla. The town was named by Judge Edwin Randall in 1875.
