Back in 2002, the Iowa State Association of Counties website hosted an account of each county's history, signed by its County Recorder, and illustrated with a black and white flag image. It is not clear whether these flag images were provided by the county administration or not.

Archived copies of the pages about Tama County are still at web.archive.org/web/*/www.iowacounties.org/County+Info/History+Pages/tama.htm and web.archive.org/web/*/www.iowacounties.org/County+Info/Flags/Tama.htm. It is a ~5:9 vertical unequal triband with a large emblem and writing on the side panels. The middle panel of the triband is light (white?) and square - "Canadian" style - and the side panels are very dark (black, red, blue?), apparently in the same color but on the other hand the county flag might follow the state flag in having a French-like tricolor in Old Glory shades and Canadian layout.

On the middle of the white panel there's what seems to be a coat of arms loosely inspired on the federal one surrounded by arched lettering reading "Tama" above and "County" below, in black (?) serif capitals and around all this a ring of 13 elements each consisting of two words arranged in two arcs forming a hollow ring: these seem to be the names of local celebrities. On the side panels, two lists of the settlements in the county, townships on the hoist side, and towns on the fly side, thus titled. All this lettering is set in sans serif capitals, dark on light and light on dark.
