Overview

The City of Zhovti Vody (means Yellow Waters).is in Dnipropetrovs'ka region, Ukraine. It has around 52,000 people on 33 km2. The flag is shown at <zhovtivody.dp.ua>. It is rectangular diagonaly divided from lower hoist to upper fly red over blue with yellow waving stripe on the bottom. Red is for the Soviet period and an atom with electrons stands for Ukrainian Nuclear Energetic. Blue and two crossed swords stands for the historical period. The yellow is for Bogdan Khmel'nyts'kiy and his victory over Polish troops in the battle at river Zhovtiy in 1648.
Author of the flag is Shevchenko Anatoliy Vasil'ovich. Contest was held in 2005.
