KoçSistem (corporate website) was established in 1945 first as Koç Ticaret Büro Levazımatı A.Ş. (Koç Commerce Office Equipments Co). In 1962 it was structured as KoçBurroughs; in 1987 as Koç-Unisys and finally in 1997 as KoçSistem.

TEV was established on 4 May 1967 by Vehbi Koç (1901-1996, founder of the Koç Holding and once one of Turkey's wealthiest citizens; biography).
The goals of TEV are to "provide scholarships to students who are successful but in need of financial help; support the educational system by constructing schools, dormitories, educational institutions, and libraries; give awards to promote students’ works; and carry out scientific research in the field of education."
