Description of the flag

A photo of the flag was found at http://mari-el.gov.ru/morki/Pages/Photoalbom6.aspx. It is a white flag quartered asymmetrically by a line of division near the bottom of a complex design, and a letter Р shape toward the hoist. The upper hoist quarter is green and carries a yellow squirrel. The lower fly quarter is maroon.

"The flag is a rectangular panel with a width to length ratio of 2: 3, reproducing the composition of the region's coat of arms, shifted to the left: in a crescent-shaped green and white field - a yellow squirrel sitting on the right with red eyes, claws and a yellow nut in its paws; below a geometric line of division the fields are is divided in white and red.
"Approved by the decision of the Meeting of Deputies of the Morkinsky Municipal District of the Republic of Mari El (No. 52) dated June 21, 2006."
