Coat of arms

Shield Azure, a pillory Argent, flanked by a rice plant and a corn plant, both Or and set in pale. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA NOVA DE ANÇOS".
Meaning:
The local pillory is part of the national heritage. The grain is symbolizing agriculture, The blue colour is symbolizing Arunca River.
