Shield Gules, a parcel Or, tied by cord and tassels Azure, between two myrtle wreaths Or blossomed Argent and Purpure and seeded Or, in base crossed per saltire, in chief a Florentine fleur-de-lis Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE IDANHA-A-NOVA".

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain blue field.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent, an eradicated olive tree Vert, fruited Sable, in chief an orbicular cross Gules at dexter and two scimitars Azure, crossed per saltire, at sinister Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ALCAFOZES".
Meaning:
The cross is alluding to the Templars, the scimitars probably to the Moors.
