Blazon: I blått tre oppflyvende sølv terner, 2-1. In English: Azure three terns volant argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 22 May 1987 after a drawing by Einar H. Skjervold. [c2j88]
The municipal site explains that the municipality run a competition in 1983 and the idea by Solfrid Krogfjord with three terns was adopted appropriate for a coastal municipality. The design was heraldized by Einar H. Skjervold from Trondheim
