Blazon: På sølv grunn fem blå spissruter. In English: Argent five lozenges azure in fess.
Approved by the royal resolution of 16 February 1990., after a drawing by Arvid Svèen, Vadsø, after the original idea by Hans H. Steinsund, Solund.

The design is inspired by the old 14th century coat of arms of the Losna family (see the above link, sable five lozenges argent in fess between four fesswise lozenges in pale). The colours refer to islands (blue) and sea (silver/white), representing north-south oriented islands next to each other set towards west.
