Description of the flags

AkzoNobel is a Dutch chemical company, home-based in Amsterdam. They are a big player in the world of paints, coatings and synthetics. The transport of material for the chemical plants in the Netherlands is implemented for a big deal over water by inland navigation tankers. They often fly the flag of the company.
The company originated as Koninklijke AKZO (Royal AKZO) and was the result of several other mergers. After a taking over Nobel Industries, Akzo Nobel started under the new name in 1994. A minor name change resulted in the name AkzoNobel in 2008. The new variant of the house flag shows the last name and a blue figure on a white flag.
