Department of Education

Source: According to this site:

The flag comprises a white and a sky blue stripe. The agency logo is set in the centre while the name JABATAN PENDIDIKAN MELAKA (Melaka Education Department) is printed at the bottom.

The white and sky blue colours refer to life on earth and in the hereafter. White represents the integrity and sincerity of this agency. It also represents the innocence of the students and their readiness to be molded by their parents and the educators. Sky blue represents the exchequer, expanse or scope, peace and control. It also stands for globalisation in the world of education that has no boundaries for the quest for knowledge. The significance of both the colours in the flag is also manifested in the uniform of the school children.

The Department logo carries the motto 'Fikir Bagaimana Bertindak Segera' (Think How Act Now). This embodies the style of management consistently working towards the optimum. The name 'JABATAN PENDIDIKAN MELAKA' (Melaka Education Department) states the Government agency it represents."

A great flag display from the official Undang of Naning blog can be found at Undang is the "Head" or ruling chief or territorial chief for Adat Perpatih. They are mostly used in Negeri Sembilan, although Naning is in Malacca. The flag is golden-yellow with the flags for 4 'provinces' of Naning (Meruar, Utar Utar, Ular Ular, Tonggo).

British Settlement of Malacca

The arms were granted 14th August 1951, and the badge was the shield of the arms, so probably instituted just after that date. According to Nick Weekes' notes on Colonial Badges, the shield was on a white disc on the Blue Ensign, and on the Union Jack within a garland. Both probably discontinued when the Federation of Malaya became independent 31st August 1957.
