Introduction

From the local council website:

On the 30th December 1797, after a formal request by Don Salvatore Curso, on behalf of his parishioners, Grand Master Ferdinand Von Hompesch instituted the village as a city calling it after his name, "Città Ferdinand".

Description

It seems that the correct current flag (and arms) is white with two red stripes and a yellow cross fimbriated red between them.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 19 January 2007

A coat-of-arms, with two red stripes and a yellow cross fimbriated red between them, is shown in two websites:

Blazon: Argent on a fess Gules a cross couped Or. Is-Siġġiewi is nicknamed Città Ferdinand so I assume this must have been the arms of a Grand Master of the Order of Malta of this name.

Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Heraldry website shows the same as in this image. So, which is the correct coat-of-arms and flag for Is-Siggiewi? Are they mistaken, or former versions?
