Center of Forensic Medicine

The Center of Forensic Medicine (Centrul de Medicină Legală - CML) was established by Order No. 239 issued on 10 October 1997 by the Ministry of Health, as the reorganization of the Republic's Bureau of Forensic Expertise (Biroul Republican de Expertize Medico-Legale - BEML), originally established on 1 October 1951 by the Council of Ministers of the Moldavian SSR.

Center of Forensic Medicine flag

The flag and arms of the CML, prescribed by Order No. 30 issued on 15 September 2016 by the Director of the Center, were registered on the Armorial General of the Republic of Moldova by Decision No. 491 issued on 23 November 2016 by the Heraldry National Commission and published on 3 February 2017 in the official gazette, No. 30-39, Article 152.

The flag is composed of a rectangular (2:3) cloth, white, charged in the center with a blue shield of rectangular type with rounded-off base featuring a pair of scales with equal arms superimposed with Aesculapius' staff, all blue.
