Flag

Located in Yokohama City Kanagawa Prefecture and established in 1963. The embroidered ceremonial flag has orange background with a gold emblem and vertically written gold kanji university name with gold fringe. The university emblem is based on the temple emblem ( paulownia emblem) of Sojiji Temple, the head temple of the Soto sect of Zen Buddhism, which is the parent organization of the university. It symbolizes the university's founding spirit of character building based on the teachings of Buddhism, especially Zen.
