A member of the Kodera clan in Harima Province, he was a Christian Daimyo in charge of Himeji Castle. He served Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a military strategist and was given 120,000 goku of Nakatsu Castle in Buzen Province for his successes in the Mouri offensive and the conquest of Shikoku and Kyushu. The war banner was Nakashiro. The "Nakashiro" is black banner with a white band in the middle of a three-part.
