The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 2005 by Ordinance No 3 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green and a red three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana いよ Iyo. It represents an image of the people blessed with rich nature such as green trees,the sea and the sun who makes a leap forward to the future and an image of the developing city.
