The city emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1996 and the flag was adopted on Apr 1st 1983 by Notice No 27. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 生 I of Ikoma. It represents an image of the city which plants its feet firmly on a ground and is flying strongly. The flag proportion is 2:3.

According to Notice No.27, the flag has a background of a forest green (Munsell 5G 3.5/7) and the city emblem, which is directly placed in the center of the flag, is 3/5ths of the hoist of the flag.
