The town emblem was adopted on May 30th 1972 by Regulations No 4 but there is
no flag law. The green flag has a white town emblem in the center and the kanji
name in white at the bottom. The town embllem is a stylized kanji 下 Shimo of
Shimonita. It represents a development and a solidarity of the town.
