Description

According to 2003 legislation, Municipality of Modi'in (Est. 1993, Local Council in 1996, Municipality in 2001 - named after the ancient town of Modi'in, known as the birthplace of the Hasmonai familly (a.k.a the Maccabi's)). and Local Council of Maccabim-Re'ut (Maccabim est. 1986, Re'ut est. 1991) were united into one municipality with 48,000 inh.
The official name is as above, but from the municipal website seems that Makkabbim-Re'ut were "swallowed" by their bigger neighbor and it appears only as Municipality of Modi'in and show only its symbols.
The photos at the website show only small portion of the municipal flag, but it is always white. Only Modi'in emblem and flag are used by the "united" municipality.
It seems that in time, Maccabim-Re'ut will also removed from the official name.
