Presentation of Lokve

The municipality of Lokve (1,120 inhabitants, 659 in the village of Lokve) is located due south-east of Delnice, some 20 km east of Rijeka on the main highway to Zagreb. It includes a lake, forestry being the main industry. The production of doors and windows is probably what makes Lokve most famous outside the region.

Flag of Lokve

The symbols of Lokve are prescribed by Decisions Odluka o grafičkom rješenju grba i zastave Općine Lokve, adopted on 10 August 2005 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 20 February 2006 in the County official gazette Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 7, and Odluka o uporabi grba i zastave Općine Lokve, adopted on 17 March 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published the same day in Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 11.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Staut Općine Lokve, adopted on 27 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 20 August 2009 in Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije, No. 33.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company from Rijeka.

The flag of Lokve is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The previous symbols of Lokve were prescribed by Decisions Odluka o zastavi Općine Lokve (flag), adopted on 7 March 1996 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 10 March 1996 in Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 12, and Odluka o grbu Općine Lokve (coat of arms), adopted on 28 March 1996 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 5 April 1996 in Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 8. Oddly enough, the flag was adopted three weeks before the coat of arms, even if it includes it.
The symbols were not approved by the Ministry of Administration (Novi list, 4 September 2005) and, probably, not used.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, light gray with the coat of arms in the middle. The flag is bordered "greenish yellow".
The coat of arms is "Azure, standing on a ground vert St. Catherine clad white and caped gules crowned and nimbed, holding a palm leaf in her sinister and a sword in her dexter hand, behind her in base a semi-wheel and in dexter a fir tree".
