Presentation of Montigny-lès-Vesoul

The municipality of Montigny-lès-Vesoul (645 inhabitants in 2019; 647 ha) is located north-west of Vesoul.
The abbey of Montigny-lès-Vesoul was founded in 1286 and completely rebuilt in the 18th century. Closed and sold during the French Revolution, it was registered as an historical monument in 1997.

The flag of Montigny-lès-Vesoul, as observed in September 2009, is light blue with the coat of arms, "Per pale, 1. Or three bends gules, 2. Azure three hempbreaks or a chief argent a demi-lion issuant gules. Inescutcheon vert the chapel of the local abbey argent issuant from dexter", in the center.
