Description

Vertically striped flag yellow-light blue-yellow, with a disc of diameter 5/27 of the flag's length made up of three white and three light blue wavy lines centred on each of the yellow stripes. Ratio 2:3.

Colours from the arms. The blue stripe represents the castle in the arms, which stands for the Gimenells castle, and the discs are heraldic fountains, canting for El Pla de la Font (font meaning fountain). Flag adopted 27th October 1998. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001.

This municipality appears to have been created by the merger of Gimenells and El Pla de la Font after 1991, since there are no statistics up to that year. Some additional information, extracted from this webpage of the Statistics Institute of Catalonia (Idescat):
