The flag and arms of Santibáñez del Val were approved in 2009 by the Municipal Council (Escudos y Banderas de la Provincia de Burgos website).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 2:3, red. In the middle of the flag is placed a three-donjonned tower or masoned sable port and windows azure surrounded by two lions affronty argent. The whole emblem covers 60% of the flag's hoist.
Coat of arms: Gules a three-donjonned tower or masoned sable port and windows azure surrounded by two lions affronty argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown.
The flag is, therefore, a banner of the municipal arms. The coat of arms is a "rehabilitation" of the coat of arms used in Santibáñez del Val in 1865.
