Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield parted per fess; above Or, a castle Gules with stepped gable, flanked by two towers of the same with roofs Azure, topped by balls Gules; beneath Vert an inescutcheon Or charged with two trefoils Vert in point reflection.
Meaning:
The arms are based on an old seal of Ovelgönne, which displayed a castle and the trefoils. The castle is the local castle of Ovelgönne. The castle was built in 1514 by the Counts of Oldenburg, who also had their main residence here for a short period, and was destroyed in 1677. The trefoils are representing Oldenbrok and are also symbolising the rural character of the municipality, together with the green colour.
