Description of banner:
It is a blue - yellow vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above in a blue field is the upper half of a golden (=yellow) rampant lion, armed and tongued red. The field is scattered with golden (=yellow) shingles. Below in a golden (=yellow) field is a black boar, tongued red and armed silver (=white).
Meaning:
According to source the lion is taken from the arms of the counts of Nassau, the boar appeared first on seals of the inn of court in Netphen-Irmgarteichen in 1467.

The banner was approved by Regierungspräsident Arnsberg on 8 March 1974, the coat of arms already on 10 February 1970.
